Originally a barren new-build piece of land, Alan and Heather's garden is now unrecognisable! Quite the garden transfotmation.

Initially, we had to dig out a lot of the clay-soil as it wasn't fit for purpose and very poor quality, meaning any lawn or plants that were to be installed would quickly die. So we brought in a lot of fresh-draining, good-quality topsoil to rectify this. We extended the existing paving, installed two completely separate patios using @_londonstone's lovely tumbled amber limestone and created a base for the new shed to sit on. We constructed three raised oak veg planters, installed galvanised metal edging to define borders and keep those lovely formal lines always looking crisp as well as keep everything in its place (i.e the mulch in the border and the shingle on the path).
We laid the lush new lawn, planted everything and mulched to finish it off.

A wildlife friendly garden, there is a defined space covered in onyx decorative chippings that is dedicated to Alan's birdfeeders. It is frequented by all sorts of wildlife and can be enjoyed from the beautifully rustic gabion bench, sat under the corner pergola and set amongst a plethora of lovely plants. The bench is a really cool concept and is basically a cage filled with Scottish cobbles that put on a stunning display of colours when they get wet. The onyx chippings and the limestone paving do this also and everything comes together perfectly.

We installed a beautiful selection of plants and shrubs such as liquidambar, catalpa, cornus, rhus typhina and more from @flourish_plants_uk, some stunning, espaliered fruit trees from @griffinnurseries and lovely laurels and red robins from @hedgesonline!

It truly is a wildlife watcher's paradise and a little slice of heaven for both Alan and Heather to enjoy in peace. What we created here far exceeded their expectations and they are SO happy! So are we.
